Gavin Walker's art extends into the third dimension as he
has produced many sculptures over the years, including
puppets for kid's shows. Gavin says:
"I was always
fascinated with sculpture. From the first time I saw Rodin’s
“The Thinker” I was driven to carve and mix and chip and
scrape. We made puppets at school in year seven and I always
remembered the process. I began making things for my kids
and then got the idea that these toys could be puppets and
maybe I could use them to write a book? Bushlanders was the
realization of two peoples dream and was a successful show
that entertained thousands of kids."
